Mental health consultation services

We offer mental health consultation services within many of our primary health care clinics. Our mental health consultants (MHCs) are licensed clinical professionals who are available to provide you with immediate mental health care. You can meet with an MHC to discuss life stress, immediate mental health needs or to receive short-term therapy and support.

An MHC will meet with you to:

  • understand your health and wellness goals
  • connect you with the right resources to address your unique needs
  • complete a psychological assessment (if needed)
  • determine the best next step in your care plan

Psychological assessment in-clinic

Psychological assessment at the “integrated” primary care level is designed to help patients and care teams better understand an individual’s unique symptoms and ensure they receive the best treatment possible to meet their specific needs. Assessments at the “integrated” primary care level can help address a variety of symptoms and challenges, such as:

  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • anxiety
  • bipolar disorder
  • depression
  • psychological trauma

The assessment process includes:

  • meeting with a licensed clinical psychologist to discuss a patient’s symptoms via clinical interview
  • the psychologist determining which psychological assessment practices are best suited to support the patient’s needs
  • scheduling a subsequent appointment(s) to complete the assessment

Patients may be required to refrain from certain medications or substance use during the assessment process. In some cases, certain substance use behaviors may exclude an individual from eligibility for psychological assessment.
